Silver Dollar City announces new premium resort

On Oct. 12, 2024, Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri announced their intentions to pair their existing, expansive park experience with a high quality resort.

The resort will invest half a billion dollars in the Ozarks which will require thousands of employees to accommodate the millions of new visitors. “This investment showcases Silver Dollar City’s commitment to tourism and economic growth in the Ozarks and for the State of Missouri,” says Governor of Missouri Mike Parson.

Those staying at the resort will receive exclusive amenities and perks, although specifics have not yet been released.

The resorts not only connect guests to the Silver Dollar City amusement park, but allow them to see other nearby Branson attractions. Herschend Family Entertainment, Silver Dollar City’s parent company, owns Branson White Water, Pink Jeep Adventure Tours, and Showboat Dinner Cruises.

The resorts have a very elevated view where guests are able to see Table Rock Lake and the surrounding forests of the Ozark mountainside.

Silver Dollar City is embracing both innovation and tradition in this upcoming project. It’s the biggest investment they’ve ever made into the parks, and it represents a complete shift in the identity of their operation.

However, within this innovative shift, they are still staying true to their roots and embracing the deep culture of the Ozarks.

One way they’re continuing to embrace culture is the 262 rooms of their seven-floor resort being themed. The way they’re going to be themed is currently unknown, but it is not hard to imagine the ideas they might be throwing around.

There have been three high-quality illustrations used for the marketing of the resort. The first emphasizes the front of the resort which contains a roundabout looping around a small garden in the middle.

It features an iconic Silver Dollar City parked outside the front of the building assumedly providing transportation to guests.

The second illustration shows the back side of the heavily windowed white resort with orange roofs. It has an extensive back lawn which shows how guests might spend their time at pools, campfires and at private, reserved events.

The second and first illustrations show just how many trees and green areas will be incorporated into the experience of resort guests.

The third illustration gives a sense of the scale of how big the resort is compared to the park, its elevation and its proximity to Table Rock Lake and the Showboat cruise.

The resort is expected to open in late 2026, but Silver Dollar City plans to continue this half a billion dollar investment through the coming decade. They seem to have intentions to use the half billion dollars to build not just the new resort, but potentially other resorts or other improvements on the resort or park itself.
