Disney has recently released nine episodes of a Marvel Studios TV show on their streaming site, Disney +. This series is titled ‘WandaVision’ and depicts a sitcom series of beloved characters Wanda Maximoff and Vision. Each episode portrays a different era and a looming challenge to overcome.

Receiving an 8.1 IMDB rating and a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, ‘WandaVision’ was a phenomenal success. However, The Mirror wanted to also engage the opinions of the student body. When asked their opinions on a popular social networking site, a total of 24 people responded with praises of the series. No grievances were included.

With comments stating variations of “I love it” and “absolutely amazing,” each comment was in full support of the new MCU series. Senior Myranda Levins commented, “It was so good and something so different from the normal Marvel Cinematic Universe. Great showcase of grief”.

Fellow senior Anna Meadows also made an intriguing comment regarding the show. Meadows stated, “I’ve seen three episodes and LOVE it. I have no idea what’s going to happen.”

Now, after focusing on the opinions of the Drury student body I have my personal thoughts on the popular Marvel Studios TV show which has taken the world by storm. I am an avid fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I always am first in line at theaters and could discuss theories for hours, so upon the release of the episodes I was extremely intrigued. I have recently viewed all nine episodes which were released in a span from January 15th to March 5th of 2021.

I, like the students on Drury’s campus, adore this sitcom. The costumes, set design, camera style and music, which change with each episode, are superb. Both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany gave stellar performances throughout all nine episodes. However, I believe my favorite part of the series echoes the opinion of Levins as stated above. This show was such a drastic change from what Marvel Studios typically produces, and I was exhilarated.

The leading climax that is hinted at throughout each episode entices the viewer to continue watching with full concentration. The ever-changing eras and behaviors truthfully made my eyes lock on the screen, unable to look away. I am already giddy, awaiting a possible season two of ‘WandaVision’ to see how Marvel Studios continue the story of these idolized characters.
