Blackbear: Pop and R&B artist to perform at Drury’s O’Reilly Family Event Center in April
Campus News February 21, 2020, Comments Off 295On Saturday, April 4, Pop and R&B recording artist Blackbear is set to perform at the O’Reilly Family Event Center at 7 p.m. sponsored by Drury’s Student Government Association (SGA).
The most exciting part of this, though, is that SGA will be throwing a launch party at the O’Reilly Family Event Center “with music, snacks, and games for students to partake in while we distribute tickets,” says SGA President Lexie Gutierrez.
There are 300 free tickets that will be made available at the launch party on Friday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. If you want a ticket, make sure you bring your Drury Student ID. Gutierrez says that every student who attends the event “will also have the opportunity to enter their name in a raffle for a backstage pass.”
If you can’t make it to the launch party, tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24. Prices range from $20 to $50 plus fees.
Matthew Tyler Musto chose the moniker Blackbear before releasing five studio albums, the first of which was released in 2015. He was in a garage band called Polaroid, which released an album until he left the group to work with Ne-Yo. He also, notably, co-wrote the song Boyfriend by Justin Bieber. Later, he and co-writer Mike Posner formed the duo Mansionz while he simultaneously formed the production collective Bear Trap Records.
He will be at Drury this spring. For one night only. For more information on Blackbear and this exciting event, visit Drury’s website.
