Springfield is home to dozens of unique, local restaurants and almost all of them host trivia!
Dublin’s Pass
Dublin’s Pass Downtown is an ode-to-Guinness pub that specializes in Americanized Irish food. Hannah Marrs is the host for their weekly trivia night.
“I host at Dublin’s Pass Downtown on Monday nights at 8 p.m. It is usually general trivia, but every month we try to do a theme night,” explained Marrs.
Another trivia host, Christine West, explained how the night works.
“We have five rounds a night, with prizes like free appetizers or a round of shots for each round. At the end of the night we have gift cards for our first and second place team overall!” said West.
Pappo’s Pizzeria
Pappo’s Pizzeria South is another local restaurant with weekly trivia. Each Tuesday night at 7 p.m., there are six rounds of trivia at this location. Each team can consist of up to eight people. Prizes and giveaways are sponsored by Mother’s Brewing Company. On Feb. 18, the trivia theme will be anime, so “Naruto run” to Pappo’s Southside.
Hold Fast Brewing
On the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., Hold Fast Brewing Company and Visioncon team up to host three rounds of pop culture trivia. The event, which is held at the brewery, is free for all ages. The winning team will receive a prize, which has included tickets to Visioncon in the past.
Lost Signal Brewing Company
Lost Signal Brewing Company is a hole-in-the-wall brewery that serves barbecue and a variety of locally-brewed beers, ciders, sours and ales. On Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 7 to 9 p.m., they will host The Office trivia. Teams can consist of no more than six people. Interactive Dunder Mifflin themed games will happen between rounds, and there will definitely be prizes! The best part? Dressing up as your favorite character from the show will get you $1 off pints.
Trivia nights are a cheap and easy excuse to get a little competitive with your friends. Even if you don’t leave with a prize, you’ll leave with great memories!
