Ladies Night Comedy promises to bring laughter to Springfield
News, Weekend November 8, 2019, Comments Off 67On Saturday, Nov. 16, IM PRO V: Ladies Night Comedy Show will partner with Springfield Improv to provide a monthly female-only comedy performance.
Springfield Improv
Springfield Improv is an established performance tradition in Downtown Springfield, with a building at 308 South Ave. Founded in 2014, “Springfield Improv hosts a variety of Improv Comedy Groups, a Stand Up Open Mike, and other shows,” according to their Facebook page.
Multiple people have utilized social media to publicly endorse Springfield Improv.
“Always a good time,” Matt Case wrote on Sept. 1, 2018. “The teams keep me coming back for laughs over the years. Go once and get hooked!”
Events at Springfield Improv tend to draw quite a crowd in one of Springfield’s most tourist-driven areas. Not only that, but the experience at Springfield Improv builds a sense of community.
“Intimate and super funny,” Natalie Fetterhoff wrote in April. “You fee like your [sic] in a room with a bunch of friends, instead of strangers.”
By using this venue, IM PRO V is promoting their message to as many people as possible. Venues generate revenue from the $5 ticket price that filters attendance. Anyone who can afford a $5 cover donates to the venue to get a seat. This attracts revenue for the venue and benefits for the entire community, according to the official Facebook page.
IM PRO V
IM PRO V promises to be “perfect for anyone who wants to laugh,” according to their official biography. Their monthly show at Improv Comedy Group, which is different from Springfield Improv, is frank in its description, which features the warnings “Uncensored show. (18+years).” The show is always on the third Saturday of each month, as advertised by their social media.
The event promises to bring in tourism, while remaining loyal to Springfield roots by featuring local performers. The Downtown community relies on tourism to flourish, which is where most of Springfield’s tourist-related culture comes from.
The event is inclusive to all genders, and is located at Springfield Improv at 308 South Ave, Springfield, MO. Tickets are $5 and can be reserved online at http://springfieldimprov.com, or purchased at the door until the venue is sold out.
