It’s fun, it’s free, it’s SUB: What does the Student Union Board have in store this semester?
Campus News September 20, 2019, Comments Off 98Drury University’s Student Union Board (SUB) is known for offering fun, free events throughout the year. What can the student body expect for this semester?
After-Darks
Corbin Tarr, Vice President of After-Darks for SUB, is excited about the upcoming plans for the semester.
“After-Darks are traditionally Friday nights. They are monthly events put on by SUB. In the past, there have been events like bowling and painting succulent pots. We offer something safe and fun for students to do on the weekends,” explained Tarr.
Coming up this weekend is what SUB is calling Coffee, Carbs, and Coloring. It will be held Friday, Sept. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hoblit Suite.
“As the name implies, we will have coffee and coloring books, as well as bagels!” said Tarr.
SUB’s annual Fall Fest
Fall Fest is a Drury tradition sponsored by SUB. The week-long event will take place from Oct. 21 to Oct. 26. More details for that event will be coming soon, but students can definitely expect free entry to Hotel of Terror during that week.
“Fall Fest is Drury’s way of breaking up the monotony of a normal Drury week with an autumn twist,” said Tarr.
More to come
Looking forward, Tarr gave some insight on another Drury tradition.
“Much later this semester, there will be a ‘Hanging of the Greens’ which is a non-religious holiday event for all people to partake in, courtesy of SUB,” he explained.
You can find SUB on Facebook at Drury Student Union Board to get a heads up about what’s coming. If students have suggestions about After-Dark events they would like to see in the future, they can reach out to Corbin Tarr at ctarr@drury.edu.
As usual, the Student Union Board doesn’t disappoint. Look out for these fun, free events throughout the semester and school year.
