This is not your grandmother’s bingo! Sunday, Feb. 17, Fuzion will host their famous Drag Bingo for the charity Rescue One at 1611 N Campbell Ave at 4 p.m. Come out and enjoy a night of fun prizes, amazing food and drinks, and, of course, fabulous drag queens.

Bingo with a twist

Jacob Welch, co-owner of Fuzion, is excited about the event and is looking forward to helping raise money for such an amazing cause.

“Drag Bingo is a unique event. Drag bingo is very similar to bingo as most know it, with a few twists. The event is hosted by local drag queens, who make this a fun event. Bingo games and drag humor can contain adult content and language. Between games, the drag queens who are hosting will also perform lip sync performances. All proceeds of this event go directly to Rescue One,” said Welch.

There are many prizes players can win, but there is also a satisfying reward for those who lose.

“Bingo winners are awarded prizes provided by the charity. Prizes are always different and can be everything from pet supplies baskets, adult coloring book baskets, wine baskets, and much more. Those who don’t win the bingo game get to “retaliate” against the winner, by throwing their losing game cards at the winner,” said Welch

Helping homeless animals

The benefactor of this event, Rescue One, is a local animal shelter in Springfield. Participants will not only enjoy playing bingo in a unique atmosphere, but they will also raise money for homeless animals. All Fuzion’s Drag Bingo events benefit a local charity.

“Rescue One, like many non-profits, are able to continue providing services by fundraising efforts. When Rescue One asked about hosting an event, we were excited to partner with them to help raise the funding needed to maintain their services. We have hosted numerous bingo events for various non-profits, including Boxer/Schnauzer Rescue of the Ozarks, Rare Breed, Greater Ozarks Pridefest, and Wonder Wiems Rescue to name a few,” said Welch.

Celebrating the LGBT community

Drag Bingo sheds light on the LGBTQ+ community by bringing people together to have fun and celebrate being who they are.

“My favorite part of drag bingo is being able to introduce the greater community to the LGBT community and to the art of drag, which is something that many do not get to experience. The obvious difference of these events from other charity events is the drag queens hosting. These events are very laid back and encourages breaking down walls with humor,” said Welch

Afraid you might miss out on the Feb. 17 Drag Bingo? No worries, Fuzion hosts Drag Bingos frequently!

“We have numerous Bingo events already scheduled throughout the spring months. Some of the organizations who will benefit from these events include CARE Animal Shelter, Springfield Little Theatre Education Department, Springfield #MeToo Campaign, and Foster Adopt Services,” said Welch
