Even though marketing major Sarah Brewer has studied abroad, she’s dying to go back to Greece.

“Leaving was by far the most difficult thing. We all became accustomed to the Greek culture and lifestyle that it seemed like we were tourists in America when we got back,” she said.

Her experience studying abroad in Greece for the architecture program is something that she would not have experienced without Drury.

“I recently switched to marketing from architecture, so it would be awesome to go back and take in the culture from a different perspective,” she explained.

If she wins, she would go back to Greece, but instead of studying architecture, she would focus on business.

“I chose my photo because it was a bright, fun photo, but also captures what Drury life is to me. The picture is from a traditional festival in Aegina, Greece,” Brewer said.

Another student, sophomore Sarah Childress, said she plans on studying in Rome during the summer if she wins the contest.

“I wanted to pick a photo that portrayed Greek life in a non-sterotypical way,” she said. “We were hanging out on our own time and making memories together.”

Accounting and finance major, Leean Nightingale, captured her photo for the contest as the school year began and summer came to an end.

“The picture is from right after we got back from summer break. We wanted to get everyone together to catch up, and since we all missed the Springfield treat of Andy’s, we met up there!” she stated.

Nightingale mentioned she chose that photo because laughing with friends from all over the world best represents her life at Drury.

“It’s my favorite memory because we had our own little friends reunion and talked and laughed for hours,” she explained.
