Weekend September 21, 2018, Comments Off 289Looking for a fun way to capture the perfect image of your pet? Do you like creative projects that showcase your artistic abilities? Are you planning on grabbing a bite to eat with friends over the weekend? Well, Springfield’s combined all these things into one event – Paint Your Pet.
Paint Nite
On Saturday, Sept. 29, Paint Nite Springfield, Mo. is hosting a Paint Your Pet event. The event will be hosted at Bair’s Sports Grill located here in Springfield. Guests and artists will start painting at 1 p.m. with plenty of food and drinks to go around.
Simply send in your favorite picture of your pet to Paint Nite Springfield, Mo. at megan.rhoden@paintnite.com by Sept. 26. It doesn’t have to be a cat or dog. Previous Paint Your Pet events have had guests send in pictures of their horses, snakes and rabbits.
Owner and manager of Paint Nite Springfield, Mo., Megan Rhoden, explained that once the artists have received your pictures, they begin to sketch out your pet in advance.
“We draw anything that they want,” said Rhoden. “We have it pre-sketched, and we’re ready for them. We spend about four hours with the whole group, individually going over what step to do next to get their painting to what they want it to be.”
This event does not require any previous painting experience, as the instructors work with guests one on one to allow them to paint their pet masterpiece.
A cherished keepsake
Each time the Paint Your Pet event has occurred, it has resulted in a larger turnout. Rhoden commented on the establishment of the event, as being individually customized to what each guest holds dear to their heart – their loving pet.
“It’s nice to have memorabilia of your pet because your pet won’t be around forever,” continued Rhoden.
To allow each guest one on one instruction from an artist, Rhoden explained that they bring in multiple artists for the event. Artists will spend time before the event sketching out the pet and
making a color palette based on each picture.
“We can help with painting techniques, like fur,” Rhoden elaborated. “If you want to get the illusion of fur, there’s a specific technique of putting down the darker color first and the lighter colors on top.”
Paint Your Pet is a creative event designed to get people out to local bars and restaurants in Springfield. It’s a great way to embrace your artistic talents and create a memory that you and your pet can share forever.
